Iconography for Professionals

This advanced iconography course is designed for professionals and those with prior experience in sacred art. It includes 37 detailed video lessons that will guide you step by step through the entire process of creating an icon – from preparing the gesso to the final gilding.

What will you learn in this course?
 • Gesso preparation – creating the base for icon painting.
 • Tempera painting – working with dry pigments and preparing egg tempera.
 • Relief ornamentation – applying and designing decorative elements.
 • Free gilding with loose gold leaf – mastering the Instacoll System technique.

During the course, you will create two icons (22×30 cm):
 • The Virgin Mary with Christ
 • Christ Pantocrator
